Tabletop secret ballot instrument made entirely of red and white painted wood. At the top is a painted wooden tube, half red with the word NO and half white with the word YES. This tube is divided internally into two compartments, which end in two drawers in the square base, which are the same colors as the tube.
In fraternities and secret societies, people voted yes or no using small objects: they placed their hand inside the tube and chose where to drop their object, either in the YES drawer or the NO drawer. The two drawers containing the votes were then opened and counted.
