Spider floor lamp designed in 1965 by Italian designer Joe Colombo, produced by Oluce, Italy, circa 1970.
The shade / reflector can be pivoted and adjusted, up and down along the chrome stem, in multiple desired positions. The lamp is executed with the original 'Cornalux' bulb. This bulb has a decorative shape (see photo) which ads to the design as it's visible through the opening of the reflector.
The design won the Gold Medal 'Compasso D'oro' design prize in 1967 and is part of many permanent design collections of modern art museums such as 'MOMA' New York, 'Milan Triennale' and the 'Philadelphia Museum of Art'.
A striking minimalistic and highly adjustable (reading) light with a lot of capacity.
Very good conditions.
