Italian black steel Servofumo ashtray by Castiglioni for Zanotta, 1961
First of a singular "endless project", the Servofumo is part of the large family of objects called "servants", designed from 1961 to 1987: a set of homogeneous and at the same time different objects inventions that characterize them. In the case of the Servofumo, a support rod and a sand-painted steel tray are stabilized by an almost conical abs base.
A removable inner element, in steel with rhomboidal mesh painted black, facilitates the cleaning of the sand.
